Geneious, our flagship product, is a powerful and integrated suite of molecular biology tools that is present in over 3,000 commercial, government and academic accounts across the globe.  In addition, we have recently announced the launch of our new, complementary, service to support precision antibody discovery, which will deepen and strengthen our commitment to commercial customers involved in the research and development of biologic drugs.

Based in our central Auckland HQ, we are seeking a Financial Accountant to join our Finance team. This is a great opportunity for a motivated candidate to gain hands on commercial experience within a software company with a strong international presence.

Within the role you will be responsible for:

  • Assisting with month end reporting to ensure accruate and timely reporting
  • Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations
  • Managing the Group’s fixed asset and intangible asset registers.
  • Preparing analysis for management and the Board Reporting Pack
  • Preparation of statutory returns (eg GST, FBT, VAT etc)
  • Supervision of payroll preparation
  • Assisting with systems and process improvement
  • Working with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable staff to resolve queries when needed.

The following will definitely improve your chances of getting an interview:

  • Recently qualified Chartered Accountant (or similar)
  • At least 3 years of relevant accounting experience, either within an accounting practice or a commercial environment.
  • A keen interest in software and systems improvement
  • IFRS knowledge would be beneficial
  • Excellent command of the English language, particularly in its written form
  • Being currently, physically based in New Zealand with a legal right to work here indefinitely
