Biomatters is seeking a highly motivated Key Account Manager to join our team in Aarhus, Denmark. The Key Account Manager will work in Europe and be responsible for strategic sales, management and growth of accounts, as well as all phases of the sales process. Along with closing business, your daily responsibilities will include uncovering and generating new leads, qualifying and converting leads into business opportunities, and delivering presentations.

The position requires the ability to meet challenges with resourcefulness, generate solutions for improving sales, and develop innovative approaches and ideas. The ideal candidate must have a fundamental understanding of genomics and related life sciences.


  • Deliver closed business monthly to exceed assigned quota.
  • Maintain accurate and descriptive accounts and accurate sales forecasts within our CRM (Salesforce).
  • Assist Biomatters’ leadership team in the development of a successful strategy to increase sales and presence within Europe significantly, in line with corporate objectives.
  • Cultivate and convert prospects by planning and conducting on-site and on-line meetings with prospective clients and/or existing customers.
  • Engage in discovery conversations to generate new business through existing relationships or the development of new business relationships proactively.
  • Participate in sales team meetings and take responsibility for sales improvement initiatives and other assigned action items.
  • Work effectively in a fast paced environment. Work independently but also in collaborative teams to ensure Biomatters’ objectives are met.


With a focus on customer-centric selling, the ideal candidate should have excellent communication and listening skills with the ability to work with prospective clients to understand their needs and deliver solutions to meet those needs. The Key Account Manager will need superior project management skills to build, manage, and diversify the account base for Biomatters. Additionally, you must be comfortable delivering presentations to customers and understand the purchasing cycle with the ability to identify decision makers.

  • Bachelor degree; Master in Life Sciences or Biology; MBA
  • 5+ years of enterprise sales experience selling bioinformatics software or large laboratory equipment (genomics/molecular biology).
  • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding annual targets.
  • Must possess both strategic and tactical ability. Will be required to call on, visit, and correspond with senior level personnel.
  • Ability to respond to rapid change, manage, organize, and prioritize projects, manage people and resources, set realistic, achievable objectives and timelines.
  • Ability to navigate a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong technical appreciation and ability to assimilate complex material quickly.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Drive to succeed.
  • Living near Aarhus, Denmark, and working out of our offices in Aarhus.
  • Ability to travel as necessary, up to 50% of the time.
